Vocational Education

As part of Mackay Christian College’s vision to help students become all that God wants them to be, we are committed to providing a quality Vocational Educational program that prepares our students for the working environment after finishing their formal education.
Should a student choose to transition to the workforce upon the completion of their formal schooling we have a number of programs assisting them to do so successfully.
A significant number of the Mackay Christian College Senior cohort (Years 11 &12) choose to be involved in off-site learning be it at TAFE and or in a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT). We seek to support students with personalised study plans and mentoring to help them gain quality outcomes both at school and in the workplace.
Mackay Christian College has developed a culture of work readiness through its compulsory work experience for students in Years 10, 11 and 12. This program has proved successful for our students with annual destination studies indicating that 99% of Mackay Christian College graduating students are engaged in work or study. We wish to extend our gratitude to the employers who support us in the building of workplace culture at Mackay Christian College.
